Carstens Tönnieshof introduced the striking „Mooncrater“ vase series in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Part of their exclusive Luxus line, the designs were created by Dieter Peter and Rudolph Christmann. Inspired by the lunar landscape and the era’s fascination with space exploration after the 1969 moon landing. The textured surface of these 3 vases are enhanced by rough, pumice-like glazes that lend the piece a distinctly sculptural and tactile quality. Its design draws inspiration from both organic natural forms and the futuristic motifs of the Space Age, while also evoking a primal, almost prehistoric sensibility. Price for set of 3.
